New Addition

December 24, 2021

I was going to wait until sometime in February to get a dog but for some reason, I googled “rescues near Pahrump.” This little one caught my eye.

She just looked so sad. The description read that she was very shy and just needed some treats and to be told that everything is all right. Well don’t we all!!

It was a few days before I could go see her and when I did, my heart just went out to her. She was cowering in the back corner of a pen that was used to hold dogs when meeting potential adopters. There was a lot of noise and confusion. It was 12/22 and in a thrift store. Lots of stressed out, over sugared people. I took her outside for a little walk. She was really nervous and kept hiding behind me when anyone approached us. She already trusted me. I couldn’t leave her there. So she came home with me.

Meet Gypsy

We are slowly finding our way. She doesn’t like to lead. She will not walk out of the trailer ahead of me, even on a leash. She is really nervous when eating. She acts like someone is going to take her food. But she trusts me. Those dark, deep eyes do not miss a thing. She never stops moving unless she is sitting next to me or sleeping. She was called Rosie in the shelter but already knows her name is Gypsy. She is starting to learn how to play. She and Astrid decided to play keep away with a tennis ball at 2 o’clock this morning!

She is my present to me! I hope you all get something just as special during this holiday season.

Merry Christmas!!
